Cairngorms National Park – 22 March
A beautiful walk of moderate length and difficulty that takes in magical pine forests, some hands-on walking through a boulder field and fantastic views of the highest mountains in Scotland.
This is a beautiful walk through the ancient forests and the foothills of the Cairngorms and a perfect day if you would like to get a feel for the Cairngorms National Park without going up on top of the highest plateaus.
The forests of Rothiemurchus and surroundings are a prime example of thriving pine forest, resembling what once was the great Caledonian pine forest of Scotland. Rich undergrowth and a great variety of wildlife can create a fairy tale experience when walking through these woods.
